From newsletters to season brochures to websites, Ruddle Creative has written effective marketing copy for visual and performing arts organizations, as well as non-profit and for-profit organizations in dozens of other industries.

Article Writing (with interviewing and/or other research): $150/page

Brochure copywriting (including concept development): $250/page

Article or brochure writing without research or concept development: $100/page

We bill for our services on a flat, per-page rate to provide reliability and predictability to our pricing. For projects that do not lend themselves to a physical page count such as email newsletters and press releases, we use the guideline of 400-500 words per page to assess page count.




Design/Layout

Some designers worry about creating a knock-out piece for their portfolio. Ruddle Creative worries about making your brochure, postcard, flier, ad, newsletter or website as readable and as effective as possible.

Complex Design/Concept Development (for a logo/identity website, brochure, brochure series or ad campaign): $1,500-$2,500

Standard Design (for a newsletter, flier or postcard campaign, email blast template, or a simple brochure): $500-$1,000

Complex Page Layout (most brochures, magazines, ads, website home pages): $250/page

Standard Page Layout (most newsletters, fliers, and postcards): $150/page

Basic Page Layout (simple newsletters, email newsletters, subsidiary website pages, invitations, etc.): $75/page

Mail or e-mail us concepts, copy, designs, layouts or finished pieces. Your “extra pair of eyes,” Henry Ruddle, will provide creative ideas and specific suggestions for improvement, along with validation of excellence and tough love where appropriate. The one-on-one consultation portion can take place by your choice of e-mail or telephone.

  • $75 for the first piece or initial setup

  • plus $25 per related marketing piece or subsequent review of the same piece

Pricing examples:

  • sending a season brochure, season overview postcard, season overview advertisement, and season overview rack card would count as 4 related items and cost $150 total
  • sending a rack card and a postcard for Show A, as well as the rack card and postcard for Show B, would count as 2 sets of 2 related items and cost $100/show for a total of $200

Billed monthly as required.


Mail or e-mail all of your marketing pieces, including advertisements, brochures, postcards, e-blasts and newsletters, and then schedule a telephone interview between key players on your marketing team and Henry Ruddle. He will prepare a comprehensive written report with suggestions and creative ideas, big and small, backed up with examples, mockups and research. Finally, a post-report interview provides time for questions and further brainstorming.

  • $500 for analysis of entire marketing program

  • $250 for analysis of one portion of marketing program (such as season brochures or newsletter or website)

Add Henry Ruddle to your marketing and communication team for his outside perspective, creativity and expertise. Include him in discussions and brainstorming sessions by phone and e-mail while developing your organization's branding, season, seasonal theme, and specific marketing and advertising pieces.
  • Monthly retainer based on $100 per major marketing instance. For example, a group with a five-show season would have six major marketing initiatives -- the season as a whole and each show. The fee would be $600, split into $50/month retainer payments.

A two-day, on-site audit including analysis of marketing message, program, processes, pieces, vendor pricing, media and more. Extensive interviews with marketing team, as well as key board members, staff, vendors and volunteers.

At the end of the audit, Henry Ruddle will present a confidential written report with both big picture and detailed analysis of marketing program, processes and team. The report will include detailed plans for saving staff time and money where possible, as well as proposed solutions for specific problems identified during the audit.

  • $2,500 (plus travel expenses if applicable)

Billed upon completion (except travel expenses, which must be paid in advance). Guaranteed.


Guarantee: You must be satisfied with the quality of the consultation. Most consultations pay for themselves several times over in the first year. If you are not satisifed upon completion of the consultation, you will be charged a reduced rate or not charged at all.
